and has been writing since she was 10 years old, She was first published in the Limerick leader.

She finally decided to pursue her talent in 1999 and took up a creative writing course in the University of Limerick.

She then went on to do a writing course in the Kilaloe Hedge School in County Clare, where she began writing The Paupers’ Graveyard.

In 2006 Gemma was short-listed by Waterstones for a new writer's award.       

She is working on her 12th manuscript.
